Selling largely depends upon the art of persuasion. Art of persuasion comes through public speaking. Public speaking is an important, eminently teachable art form. In modern times this is a must-have skill for entrepreneurs. Public speaking can be learned through practice. For first-time entrepreneurs, speech anxiety is a common and frustrating experience. You might blame yourself for lacking the right ability or disposition, but the issue has little to do with your emotional makeup, and everything to do with basic training.

Before going for speech do preliminary research about the audience It might help to answer the following seven questions:
- 1.Who will be listening?
- 2.How many people will there be?
- 3.How old are they?
- 4.What race and gender are they?
- 5.What do they know about you and your topic?
- 6.Why are they gathering to listen to you?
- 7.What you intend to persuade?
Think about why you are talking?
Define your general goals. Is your speech intended to inform, entertain, persuade, or inspire? Next, define your specific purpose in a single sentence: As a result of my talk, I want them to know about my product and motivate them to buy it or recommend it to others, etc.
Think about your audience’s happiness!
Think about what’s in your talk for your audience. In terms of subject matter and delivery style, how can you show them that you’re not just prattling away, you’re speaking their language and focusing on their wellbeing? For example, a group of students wants to score high in their studies, etc.
Don’t expect eloquence to flow without rehearsal. Practice makes a man perfect. The below strategy will help you to become a good public speaker.
1.Rehearse In front of the mirror or make a video
2.Memorize your introduction and conclusion
3.Time your speech
4.During rehearsal add voice modulations as per content
5.Read a lot about the variety of topics
